Skywatch Friday - Jal Mahal, Jaipur..

Previous post on Golden Triangle Tour Amber Fort

Jal Mahal in Man Sagar Lake is one such place which none can miss while driving from Jaipur city to Amber. The palace is a five storey structure, of which four storeys are under water when the lake is full.
Built in Rajput and Mughal architectural styles, the palace is built of redstone which resembled most of the other heritage structures of Jaipur. It underwent restoration in 2008 to get its present look.
Not sure if the palace is open to public, but you can get a glimpse of it on the way to Amber.

  4. It wasn't open when I visited and that was a decade ago. But last year, I think I read somewhere that it was open. I would love to see it.

  6. Heya, Meghana!
Such a lovely Monument it is with a great view to it. I have never been to the place albeit I have always wanted to visit Jaipur and particularly Jal Mahal. And four storeys under water? I didn’t know that before. Thanks to your blog, I’ll soon plan a visit to Jaipur, Jal Mahal included!
